Our Senior Phase

We cater for the following learning areas in the Senior Phase:

  • Primary language: English First Additional language; Afrikaans/isiXhosa; Mathematics; Social Sciences; Life Orientation; Natural Sciences; Creative Arts; Economic Management Sciences; Technology; Computers Literacy/Keyboarding skills

The progression requirements for the various Learning Areas:

  • 40% for Home Language, Mathematics and the remaining learning areas and
  • 30% for the First Additional Language

Academic Awards:

We promote a motivational system called the Prestige Student system:Our learners receive merits (PS Awards) for academic achievements and improvement in their academics. These awards are calculated every term and the totals are reflected on their Assessment Reports at the end of every term. At our annual Prize giving deserving learners are also awarded with Certificates of excellence for Academics. Badge awards

  • For an academic badge in Grade 8 and 9 a learner must achieve 75 – 79,9% as an average on their end of term assessment report. · For an academic + badge a Grade 8 or 9 learner must achieve 80+% on their end of term assessment report.

Blazer awards

Academic scroll awards

  • For an academic scroll in Grade 8 and 9 a learner must achieve 75 – 79,9% as an average on their end of term assessment report.

Academic half colours

  • For academic half colours in Grade 8 and 9 a learner must achieve 80 – 84,9% as their average for the year.

Academic full colours: For academic full colours in Grade 8 and 9 a learner must achieve 85 – 100% as their average for the year.

NOTE: Learners can achieve blazer awards from Grade 8, but they are only allowed to have them placed on their blazers when they start Grade 10.
