Beaconhurst has done it again. With it being the fourth year of its existence, the Beaconhurst Kingfisher Festival was once again roaring with success! The rain couldn’t stop us; the clouds couldn’t stop us; nothing could stop the masses that descended on the festival and made it a day to remember.
Everyone had positive feedback to give and was impressed beyond measure. It is no wonder that big sponsors such as Old Mutual, Powerade and Hemingways Mall were eager to provide their support. The response from the crowd was great. The food was phenomenal, and so were the people who made and served it. The event is Beaconhurst’s pride and joy, one of the most well-supported events the school hosts, and one of the biggest school festivals in East London.
We spoke to our principle, Mr Norman, who said that the people who sponsor these events do so because they see that people of all talents are catered for, and we capitalise on diversity. “Even the sport, music and culture goes into everything”. Everyone’s talents should be honed, and talents capitalised on, which is why Mr Norman thinks we are drawing in sponsors.
Everyone was exhilarated. Despite the weather, spirits were very high. It was absolutely memorable. Thank you to all involved. The trending phrase, rightly so, was, “Beaconhurst is a small school doing BIG things!”
